Gerald F. (Jerry) Spillner, 84 of Royer Lake LaGrange died at 6:53 P.M. at his residence. Mr. Spiller had lived at Royer Lake since 1964. He retired from Conrail in 1978 after 35 years.
Jerry was born June 23, 1923 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Frank William & Ora (Snyder) Spillner. They preceded him in death. He married Dorothy Cornett and she preceded him in death in November of 1991.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sherril & Greg Garlat of Union, Michigan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dan & Judy Spillner of Eagan, Minnesota and Jack Spillner of South Bend, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Brenda & Jim Perry of LaGrange and Patricia Parker of Hudson; and a special friend/caretaker Sarah Weaver of Royer Lake; 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren with three on the way; one brother Don & Terri Spillner of Fort Wayne, and two sisters, June & Jerry Funk of Fort Wayne and Betty Wolfe of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by a son Johnny Spillner Keller.
Services will be at 2 pm Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Young Family Funeral Home Wolcottville Chapel with Chaplin Ken Weaver. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Memorials are to the family for the group home where his son Jack Spillner lives.
