Obituary

Gerald B. "Jerry" McHenney, 87, of Rome City died Monday, August 7, 2017, at North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion.

He was born August 30, 1929, in Michigan to James and Elizabeth McHenney.

On December 15, 1972, in Howe he married Dorothy L. Miller. She survives in Rome City.

Mr. McHenney honorably served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Rome City American Legion Post 381, a SAL member for 23 years, and an honor guard member for 25 years

He retired as an electrician at General Electric in Fort Wayne.

Jerry will be missed by his many friends and his loving family.

Surviving are a daughter, Shelia Roderick of Elkhart; three sons, Dennis (Ann) McHenney of Kendallville, Patrick McHenney, and Michael (Florence) McHenney; a stepdaughter, Dianne Hart of Rome City; a stepson, Orlo "Butch" Hart of Orland; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or services.

Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
