Gerald A. Ferro

Gerald “Gerry” Allen Ferro, 82, of LaGrange, Indiana passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Gerry was born in Elkhart, Indiana on October 28, 1943, to Michael and Grace Ferro. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1962 and from Indiana State University with a Bachelor’s of Education in 1966.

Gerry had been a teacher at Jefferson High School in Goshen. He then worked in recreational vehicle sales for 35 years. He was also a substitute teacher for Lakeland and Westview School Corporations.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in LaGrange, where he sang in the church choir.

He shared a passion for bowling, softball, golf, fishing, and most of all, Notre Dame Football.

Gerry is survived by his wife, Ruby; his children, Chuck Bruce (Michael Jacobs), Vicki Hansen (Larry), Gill Bontrager (Kyle), and Gennifer White (Ralph), grandchildren, Gessica Garber (Jed), Tyler Hufnagle (Tyra), and Gelena White, two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Teagan Hufnagle; a sister, Mildred Ferro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Christina Talon; and three brothers, John Ferro, Michael L. Ferro, and David Ferro; a sister, Betty Huot.

Memorial services will be Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 209 West Spring Street, LaGrange with Pastor Crystal Jacobson officiating.

Visitation will also be on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at the church.

Burial will be at Woodruff Cemetery near Wolcottville at a later date.

Gerry will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace in the loving arms of Jesus, and as always, Go Irish!
