Obituary

Geneva P. Porter, 97, of Angola, formerly of Stroh, died Monday, February 25, 2019, in Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Angola.

She was born January 26, 1922, in DeKalb County to Russell I. and Alice L. (Smith) Pontius.

Mrs. Porter was a homemaker and a member of the Stroh Church of God.

Geneva enjoyed crocheting and dearly loved being with her grandchildren.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Russell H. and Lynda Porter of Fremont; six grandchildren, Kevin (Jill) Porter, Gary Porter, David Porter, Heather (Mike) Harris, Monica (Nick) Wappes, and Mindy (Adam) Lindahl; five great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Howard Porter who died in September, 1990; a son, Allen Porter; two granddaughters, Susie Miller and Carrie Porter; three sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 12 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Jeff Berry of the Stroh Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery.

Calling is Thursday, February 28, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Stroh Church of God or to the family.
