Gary Edward "Ed" Keck, Sr., 67, of Orland died Friday, November 17, 2017, at the VA Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born March 18, 1950, in Kendallville to Richard S. Keck, Sr. and Madonna (Chapman) Keck Keene.
Mr. Keck was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Wolcottville; LaGrange American Legion Post 215, and Kendallville VFW Post 2749.
Ed loved fishing, hunting mushrooms, and being outdoors. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, and made many violins and harps which he enjoyed giving to family members.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra A. "Sandy" (Hall) Keck of Orland; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Darin Ramer of Kendallville; three grandchildren, Kelsey Ramer, Melissa Ramer, and Christina Ramer; four sisters, Missy (Jamie) Sykes of LaGrange, Ramona (Jerry) Hunter of Kendallville, Judy (Phil) Burlew of Mongo, and Diane Smith of Washington; and a brother, Richard Keck of Mongo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eddie Keck; and stepmother, Barbara Keck.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Rev. James Tews of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating.
Honor guard services will be provided by LaGrange American Legion Post 215 and active duty members of the U.S. Army.
Calling is Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to volunteer services at the VA Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
