Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel.
Calling is Monday, June 1, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday. ************************************************************************************ Gail K. Daniels, 78, of Wolcottville died Thursday, May 28, 2015, in Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne with her family at her side.
She had lived in this area since 1970, coming from Michigan.
She graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree.
Mrs. Daniels had worked as a secretary at Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville. She also worked at Kraft Foods in Kendallville, and was a manager for Kelly Temporary Service Branches.
She was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville and the DAR.
Gail was a Master Gardener and frequently wrote articles about gardening for the News-Sun. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, bike riding, hiking, walking, and spending time with her family.
She was born February 20, 1937, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Theodore and Donna (Benedict) Krieger.
In 2009, in Kankakee, Illinois, she married William D. "Bill" Whited. He survives in Wolcottville.
Also surviving are a son, Eric (Becky) Daniels of Kendallville; a daughter, Laura (Carlos) Smith of Huntertown; a stepdaughter, Dianne Whited of LaGrange; three stepsons, Kevin Whited of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Mark (Amy) Whited of LaGrange, and Matthew Whited of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Jason (Kristi) Knapp, Stephanie (Daniel) Schmidt, Dana (Jonathan) Barberis, and Devin Daniels; eight step-grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Zaphielle Whited, Jeremiah Whited, Serena Whited, Zeke Whited-Deel, Jazzlyn Whited, Aliza Whited, and Alana Whited; four great-grandchildren, Chase Haire, Darren Haire, Mackenzie Knapp, and Kaden Knapp; a step great-grandchild, Elijah Smith; and two brothers, Jack (Regenna) Krieger of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Roy (Sandy) Krieger of Coloma, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Frederick N. Daniels.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Gabrielle Ginder of the Huntertown United Methodist Church officiating.
Calling is Monday, June 1, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
