Calling: Tuesday, April 2, 2013 - 2 to 10 p.m. in the church. Evening service at 6 p.m. ************************************************************* Frederick Donald "Lil Fred" Sturdivant, 18, of Middlebury and formerly of Rome City died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Bristol.
He had attended East Noble High School, and has lived in Middlebury for a year.
He worked at Keystone in Goshen.
Lil Fred enjoyed music, but he especially enjoyed Rap music. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was born April 9, 1994, in Kendallville to Frederick Earl and Angela "Annie" (Wertz) Sturdivant.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Angela "Annie" and Troy Hedges of Middlebury; his father and stepmother, Frederick Earl "Big Fred" and Dee Dee Sturdivant of LaGrange; his girlfriend, Sherie Shalley of Goshen and her daughter, Maci; a son, Frederick Donald Sturdivant due on May 27th; seven sisters, Chelsea (Nathaniel) Sturdivant-Martin of Oak Grove, Kentucky, Sydnee King of Fort Wayne, Catrina (Andy) Bontrager of Goshen, Candice (Nate) Trejo of Ligonier, Kelsey (Jeremy) Frey of Topeka, Kaitlin Hedges of Ligonier, and Kayla Hudson of Kendallville; a brother, Ford King of Fort Wayne; maternal grandmother, Lois Wertz of Rome City; paternal grandparents, Frank Sturdivant, Sr. and Shirley Sturdivant of Rome City; step grandparents, John and Jan Diller of Fort Wayne and Gordon Jordan of Rome City; two nephews, Caden Martin and Karl Hedges-Baker; two nieces, Melody Bontrager and Trinity Bontrager; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ora Donald Wertz.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Five Corners Baptist Church, Wolcottville with Pastor Clarence Combs and Pastor Wade Sturdivant officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Calling is Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 2 to 10 p.m. in the church. An evening service will be held at 6 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
