Celebration of Life Memorial Service: Sunday, February 9, 2014 - 4 p.m.

Calling: Sunday, February 9, 2014 - 2 to 4 p.m. ******************************************************************************** Franklin L. Kline, 79, of LaGrange died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, in Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange.

He had lived in the LaGrange area for 20 years, prior to that from Sylvan Lake.

Franklin honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

His first job was as a dishwasher which he did for four years as a young boy. He was proud of the fact that he was able to use the monies he earned to help his family.

He retired in 1997 from the recreational and boat industry.

Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing and playing guitar at family gatherings.

He was born February 23, 1934, in Kendallville to Carl "Hap" and Lola Marie (Miller) Kline.

Surviving are a daughter, Ginny (Randy) Dickerhoof of Kendallville; a son, Jeffrey (Marcia) Kline of Kendallville; four stepdaughters, Florence Benton, Jacqueline Smith, Carrie Burleson, and Geraldine Canfield; two stepsons, Elvin Williams and Ronald Williams; two sisters, Patricia (Russell) Scofield of Howe and Barbara Owsley of Wolcottville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; family friend, Annie Radley of LaGrange, and his cat, Fanci.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dolores (Wilson) Kline; his second wife, Ola Fay (Napier) Kline; a son, Timothy W. Kline; a stepdaughter, Gail Williams; a sister, Josephine Becker; four brothers, Raymond Kline, Oscar Kline, Billy Kline, and Carl Kline; and a great-granddaughter.

A celebration of life memorial service will be Sunday, February 9, 2014, at 4 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Paralyzed Veterans of America or to any other veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
