Frankie "Susie" Roberts, 87, of Wolcottville, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange with her family at her side.
She was born December 26, 1937, in Quicksand, Kentucky, to Newton and Belle (Miller) Owsley.
On August 30, 1958, in Clear Creek, Kentucky, she married Reece Roberts. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Roberts had worked at Essex Wire in Ligonier, Starcraft Boats in Topeka, and Starcraft Van Conversions in Goshen.
She was baptized at the United Baptist Church in Rome City and attended Independent Baptist Church in South Milford.
Susie enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Surviving are two sons, Joe (Kathy) Roberts of Wolcottville and James Roberts of Wolcottville; two daughters, Dollie Adkins of Wolcottville and Noreen Elser of Wolcottville; two grandchildren, Mathew (Danena Acker) Roberts of Wolcottville and Kyle (Brittany) Roberts of New Market, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren, Leighton Joy Roberts and Canyon Reece Roberts; and two brothers, Bird "Jake" (Cathy) Owsley of Auburn and Boyd (Jean) Owsley of Ligonier; a special granddaughter, Natasha (Koda) Andrus of Wolcottville and their son, Oliver; a nephew that was like a brother, Truman (Evelyn) Owsley of Falmouth, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews that she thought of as her own children.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Letcher "Jack" Owsley; and two sisters, Opsie Owsley and Gracie Caudill.
Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
Susie's funeral service will be Monday, July 14, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Earl Bolen of Independent Baptist Church in South Milford officiating.
Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Pallbearers are Joe Roberts, Kyle Roberts, Eddie Owsley, Mike Owsley, Shane Himes, Boyd Ritchie, and Robbie Owsley
Memorials may be directed to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
