Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Orange Cemetery, Rome City. ****************************************************************************************** Frank Joseph Tierney, 103, of Cobden, Illinois, and formerly of Rome City died December 12, 2014, in Anna, Illinois.

He was the owner of The Cove Tavern in Rome City for many years. He was also a construction foreman when the Indiana Toll Road was built.

Frank was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge 1194 n Kendallville.

He was born November 24, 1911, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Frank and Adelaide (Fanz) Tierney.

On November 24, 1943, in Valparaiso he married Vera Potee. She preceded him in death on July 3, 1987.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Beverly Potee of Florida and Abby Potee of Constantine, Michigan; seven nieces, Linda Hatfield of Middlebury, Myrna Arnold of Brimfield, Patty Stricklan of Delaware, Debbie Kaufman of Florida, Bonnie Albert of Valparaiso, Adelee Reid of Idaho, and Lynne Powell of Idaho; five nephews, Bruce Potee of Florida, Bill Tierney, James Milliken, Dino Potee, and Jim Potee; and special friends, Tom and Darbi Rash of Buffalo, New York.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Franco; and two brothers, William Tierney, and Robert Tierney.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
