Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel.

Calling is Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Thursday. ******************************************************************************************* Floyd Edward "Doc" Marquart, 73, of Kendallville died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. in his residence with his family at his side.

He moved to this area in 1982, coming from Fort Wayne.

Mr. Marquart was a funeral director, having worked at Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home and Young Family Funeral Home in Kendallville and Wolcottville for over 30 years. He started his career in funeral service with his father in Monroeville at the Marquart & Son Funeral Home. After retirement, he worked at WalMart in Kendallville until recently.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville, the Indiana Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.

Doc received his 50-year funeral director's service pin on June 4, 2014, at the Indiana Funeral Directors Association convention. Long-time friend and co-worker, Kathy Young had the honor of pinning him. He was also joined by his wife, Cindy, and friend and co-worker Beth Young-Mosley for this special occasion.

He was born September 7, 1941, in Decatur to E. Leslie and Alta Salomone (Ruppert) Marquart and was raised in Monroeville.

On February 17, 1984, in Kendallville he married Cindy L. (Dauberman) Nash. She survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are a son, David M. (Nicole) Marquart of Indianapolis; two daughters, Brenda (Russell) Kolkman of Fort Wayne and Lori (Kevin) Jackson of Fort Wayne, nine grandchildren, Kyle Franklin, Jacob Franklin, Morgan Franklin, Bryce Jackson, Braydon Jackson, Elisabeth Kolkman, Claire Kolkman, Madison Marquart, and Lucy "Peanut" Marquart; six step-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemary (Duane) Dager of Monroeville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, E. Leslie Marquart, Jr.; and a grandson, Maxwell Marquart.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Rich Secor of Crosspointe Community Church of the Nazarene in Kendallville officiating and assisted by Pastor Regan Ford of the First Church of God in Kendallville. Burial will be in Lake Bethel Cemetery in LaGrange County.

Calling is Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Active pallbearers are Russell Kolkman, Kevin Jackson, Kyle Franklin, Jacob Franklin, Robin Pierce, and Pat Young.

Honorary pallbearers are Morgan Franklin, Bryce Jackson, Brayden Jackson, Elisabeth Kolkman, Claire Kolkman, Madison Marquart, and Lucy Marquart.

Preferred memorials are to Parkview Noble Hospice, Riley Children's Hospital, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
