Florede I. Baughman, 108, of Kendallville died Friday, April 6, 2012, at 6:30 a.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.

She was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Kendallville High School.

She retired in 1957 from Indiana Bell Telephone as a switchboard operator and chief operator of their Kendallville office.

Mrs. Baughman was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville and Sigma Beta Associate Sorority.

She was born May 30, 1903, in Swan to Francis E. and Nettie (Balliet) Cramer. On May 21, 1921, in Kendallville she married Merle R. Baughman. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1994.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy and Tom Miller of Kendallville and Beverly Ruser of Arlington, Virginia; a grandson, John (Vera) Ruser of Washington, DC; a granddaughter-in-law, Deidre Haskins of Great Falls, Virginia; a great granddaughter, Shannon Haskins of Great Falls, Virginia; two great grandsons, Morgan Haskins of Great Falls, Virginia; and Steven Fernando of Alexandria, Virginia; a niece, Gaynell (Ken) Crews of Lake Havasu, Arizona; two nephews, Paul (Anna) Minar of Kendallville and Bob (Carol) Cramer of St. Henry, Ohio; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, June Minar; two brothers, Waldo Cramer and Hugh Cramer; two granddaughters, Kathy Fernando and Heather Haskins; and a grandson, David Haskins.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 9, 2012, at 12 noon in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Rev. G. Scott Pattison of Trinity Church United Methodist officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is one hour prior to services on Monday in the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Trinity Church United Methodist or Parkview Noble Home Health & Hospice.
