Obituary

Evelyn (Owens) Hurt, 75, of Stroh died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at her residence.

She was born March 11, 1942, in Fisty, Kentucky, to James and Veda (Combs) Owens.

She moved to this area as a young child and graduated from Salem Center High School in 1960. She retired after working at several factories in the area.

Ms. Hurt was a member of the Stroh Church of God.

Surviving are a daughter, Glynis Fulford of Columbia City; a son, Willie Hurt of Warsaw; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Renee (William) Kennish of Englewood, Florida; and her significant other, Robert Groves of Stroh.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Darwin Hurt in 1994 and James Hurt on January 3, 2018.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 12 p.m. at the Stroh Church of God with Pastor Jeff & Brenda Berry officiating. Burial will be in Lake Bethel Cemetery near Stroh.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Preferred memorials are to the Stroh Church of God or Parkview Noble Home Health & Hospice.
