Calling: Monday, March 11, 2013 - 2-7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday *************************************************************** Evelyn L. Hill, 89, of Wolcottville died Friday, March 8, 2013, in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville following a month-long illness.

She was a lifetime area resident.

She retired from Pent Electric, having worked in both the Wolcottville and Brimfield plants.

Mrs. Hill was a fan of IU basketball. She loved watching and feeding the birds, and enjoyed her flowers in the summertime.

She was born July 15, 1923, in Kendallville to Carl and Lena (Fritz) Ebert. On September 8, 1940, in Michigan she married Leon L. Hill. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2008.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Wayne Targgart of Kendallville and Carol and Jon Burkhead of Wolcottville; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Joy Hill of Wolcottville; four grandchildren, Doug and Brenda Targgart of Wolcottville, Brad and Shari Targgart of Kendallville, Kent and Jennifer Hill of Wolcottville, and Kyle Hill of Rome City; and four great-granddaughters, Taylor Targgart, Madison Targgart, Meredith Targgart, and Eliana Hill.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ed Ebert; a sister, Helen Hart; and a great-`granddaughter, Lilly Hill.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Rev. Carldean Merrifield officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

Casketbearers will be Jon Burkhead, Doug Targgart, Brad Targgart, Kent Hill, Kyle Hill, and Jim Ebert.

Calling is Monday, March 11, 2013, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
