Ethel Irene Skaggs, 68, of Brimfield died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at 2:40 p.m. in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Skaggs had worked at Starcraft Boats in Topeka. She lived in Noble County most of her life.
She was born September 10, 1939, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Burnas and Katherine (Owens) Ritchie.
Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila Slone of Kentucky, Pamela Shepherd of Brimfield, and Tammy and Glen Ard of Kendallville; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Donald and Pauline Skaggs of Brimfield, Larry Skaggs of Ligonier, Tony Skaggs of Ligonier, and Burnas and Peg Skaggs of Rome City; 15 grandchildren, Jodi, Dailene, Katie, Mandi, Amy, Bronson, Ron, Natasha, Denver, Kathrine, Gabrielle, Kursty, Tony James, Yolanda, and Darren; seven great grandchildren, Dristan, Justin, Brayden, Skyler, Dallas, Justice, and Adrian; two sisters, Shirley Owens of Wolcottville and May Duty of Wolcottville; and one brother, Joe Ritchie of Rome City.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Denver C. Skaggs and Ronald Lee Skaggs, and a brother, Wallace Ritchie.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Community Baptist Church, Wolcottville, with Rev. Lee Combs officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Casketbearers will be her sons and grandsons.
Calling will be Wednesday, July 23, 2008, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the church. Memorials are to the family.
Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, Indiana.
