Obituary

Esther M. Gehring, 78, of Kendallville died Monday, November 26, 1927, at 10 a.m. in Shepherd of the Hill, Kendallville.

She had worked at the Kendallville Laundry and McCray Memorial Hospital in Kendallville. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville and the Young at Heart Bible Study group. She also was a volunteer at Shepherd of the Hill.

She was born November 24, 1929, in Noble County, Indiana, to Kenneth and Flora (Hasselman) Gehring. They preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sisters, Evelyn Shumaker of Kendallville and Phyllis McCarty of Avilla; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William "Bill" & Fran Gehring of Kendallville, and Ken & Bonnie Gehring of Kendallville; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, November 29, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 South Oak Street, Kendallville, with Rev. Paul B. Griebel officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2007, from 2-6 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, Indiana. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church.
