Emery Mishler Clark, 90, of LaGrange and formerly of Fort Wayne died Sunday, January 22, 2012, in Life Care Center of LaGrange.
He retired after 30+ years from Dana in Fort Wayne where he was a union representative.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He participated in the Asia-Pacific area campaign.
Emery enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, inventing gadgets, and collecting antiques and coins.
He was born April 15, 1921, in Huntington to Virgil and Effie (Nicholson) Clark. Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Jim) Johnson of Angola, Judy (Bill) Daley of Meriden, Connecticut, and Diane Sancho; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Shockey of Bluffton, Celeste (Wayne) Troyer of Woodburn, and Anna Louise Smith of Bluffton; two brothers, Nelson (Millie) Clark of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Norman Clark of Oregon; several nieces and nephews; ex-wife, Carol Clark of LaGrange; and all of his friends and wonderful caretakers at Life Care Center in LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Effie and Forest "Frostie" Blocker; his father and stepmother, Virgil and Marie Clark; sister, Mary McAlpin; brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Ruth Clark; and the mother of his children, Dorothy (Shorey) Clark.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 27, 2012, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, with Pastor Brian Walter of the South Milford Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery. Honor guard services will be provided by Kendallville VFW Post 2749, Rome City American Legion Post 381, and active duty members of U.S. Navy.
Calling is Friday from noon to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Life Care Center of LaGrange.
