Elsie M. Ousley, 79, of Kendallville died Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Kendallville.
She was born January 12, 1938, in Floyd County, Kentucky, to Walker and Ruth (Tackett) Hunter.
On November 3, 1956, in Stroh she married Raymond Ousley. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2003.
Mrs. Ousley was a homemaker. She loved reading the Bible and being with her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Garrietta (Ron) Christian of Corunna, Mary Kay (Charles) Rea of Kendallville, and Phyllis (Shannon) Terry of Lisbon; a son, Billy (Terri) Ousley of Morton, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 12 brothers and sisters, Lorene Griffith of Kentucky, Wanda Fannin of Kendallville, Clifford Hunter of Kendallville, Joanne Ousley of Kendallville, Otis Hunter of Garrett, Russell Hunter of Garrett, Brenda Sparkman of Tennessee, Garrett Hunter of Kentucky, Burma Riddle of Tennessee, Roger Hunter of Kentucky, Danny Hunter of Kimmel, and Barbara Fitch of Waterloo.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary "Larry" Ousley; a daughter, Ruthene McDaniels; and three brothers and sisters, Garney Hunter, Wallace Hunter, and Janice Hunter.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Grace Christian Church, 126 East Mitchell Street, Kendallville with Pastor Chris Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Cemetery.
Calling is Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
Arrangements are by Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
