Elsie Mae Napier, 85, of Rome City died Friday, September 4, 2020, at her residence with her loving family at her side.
She was born March 20, 1935, in Garner, Kentucky, to Cephus and Ola (Slone) Mosley.
In 1961, she married Charles Napier. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Napier cared for children in her home for many years.
Elsie enjoyed going to garage sales and was a collector of many items. She loved to watch "Little House on the Prairie". She was a selfless and amazing Mom and Grandma and adored her family and grandchildren. Her family stated that to know her was to know love. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Mullett of Rome City, Linda Combs of Rome City, and Angela (Nathan) McNeal of Kendallville; two sons, Robbie Napier of Rome City and Dougie Mullett of Rome City; ten grandchildren, Vicki (Rodney Duvall) Smart, Toby Combs, Devin Combs, Ashley (Brad) Hermann, Skyler (Amanda Collins) McNeal, Zayne McNeal, Sevin McNeal, Hunter Chilcote, Haley (Clayton McConahay) Napier, and Stevie Gillespie; 16 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Abner of Ligonier, Dorothy (Junior) Ritchie of Rome City, Flossie Davis of Kendallville, and Lori Holliday of Rome City; and a brother, James (Jackie) Mosley of Hindman, Kentucky.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Stevie Napier; two sisters, Marie Graber and Lovella Mosley; and four brothers, Alonzo Mosley, Taulby Mosley, Ellis Mosley, and LeRoy Mosley.
Funeral services will be Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Grace Christian Church, 126 East Mitchell Street, Kendallville with Pastor Scotty Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
A live broadcast of the service will be available for viewing on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page Thursday at 11 a.m.
Pallbearers are Robbie Napier, Dougie Mullett, Skyler McNeal, Zayne McNeal, Cary Gillian, Nathan McNeal, and Logan Smart.
Calling is Tuesday, September 8, 2020, after 4 p.m. and all day Wednesday at the church. An evening service will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the church.
Preferred memorials may be directed to the funeral home for funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
