Ellen Conley, 81, of Kendallville died Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 9 p.m. in Kendallville Manor Nursing & Rehab in Kendallville.
She was a homemaker and had worked at K & L Stamping in Kendallville.
Ellen enjoyed gardening, canning, growing roses, making flower arrangements, and crocheting. She also baked a lot of pies and cakes for her family.
She was born December 22, 1934, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Carew and Margaret Gibson.
On June 6, 1958, in Summersville, Ohio, she married Curtis Conley. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2011.
Surviving are three daughters, Emily "Jeannie" (Bruce) Andrews of Big Long Lake, Virginia Conley of Kendallville, and Waneta (Butch) Percey of Beaumont, Texas; two sons, Arnold Ray Gibson of Kendallville and Danny Ray Conley of Cassopolis, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deanna Belcher of Cromwell and Barbara (Homer) Ferrell of Cromwell; and two brothers, Tolbert Gibson of Kendallville and Roy Gibson of Kendallville.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Katlin Shaylend Conley; three sisters, Ollie Heileman, Virginia Lee Gibson, and Verna Mae Gibson; and three brothers, Edford Gibson, Ledford Gibson, and Arnold Ray Gibson.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Charles Mosley of Harbor of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Donald Siples, Brandon Percey, Shane Knox, Jeremy Gibson, J.R. Gibson, Nathan Gibson, and son-in-law, Bruce Andrews.
Calling is Tuesday, December 20, 2016, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to Parkview Noble Hospice or to the American Lung Association for the prevention of COPD.
