Edwin Alan North, 77, of Wolcottville, Indiana, died Monday, December 25, 2023, at The Waters of LaGrange in LaGrange.

He was born March 18, 1946, in Elkhart to Don and Evelyn (Hower) North.

Edwin honorably served as a U.S. Navy Seabee.

He married Doloras Melaya on December 10, 2001, in LaGrange.

Mr. North retired from the LaGrange County Highway Department as a truck driver.

Surviving are his wife, Doloras North of Wolcottville; a daughter, Tara Prince of Cincinnati; a son, John (Diane) North of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Rian North, Kyle North, Brianna Humphries, Westley Thompson, Matt North, and Hailey Thompson; a sister, Susan North Fisher of Florida; and two nephews, Erick Keck and Uri Fisher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Zachary North and Connor Lynch; an uncle, Richard "Dick" Saylor; and an aunt, JoAnn Saylor.

Memorial services will be Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial services at the funeral home.

Honor guard services will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.
