Obituary

Edward Alvin Schrock, Sr., 83, of LaGrange and formerly of Royer Lake died Sunday, May 24, 2009, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Schrock had worked for 30 years at McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville. He retired from Spreuer & Sons in LaGrange at the age of 76. He was a member of the Plato United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II.

He was born March 18, 1926, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Mose and Alice (Troyer) Schrock. He was married in November, 1963, in LaGrange to Eileen L. (Nodine) Mynhier. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2003.

Surviving are two daughters, Sherri Schrock and Linda Schrock; a step daughter and a step son-in-law, Brenda & Ronnie Logan of Wolcottville; two step sons and a step daughter-in-law, Doug & Diana Mynhier of Avilla and James Mynhier of Wolcottville; his twin brother, Edwin Schrock of LaGrange; 14 grandchildren, Leonard Logan, Kimberly Logan, Trent Mynhier, Tabatha Mynhier, Troy Mynhier, Krystal Mynhier, Kimberly Schaeffer, James Mynhier, Ashley Green, Thomas Mynhier, Steven Mynhier II, Adam Mynhier, Amanda Mynhier, and the grandson and his wife whom Edward made his home with, Avery & Cortney Mynhier; and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Mynhier, Sr. on August 31, 2008, and a brother, Darwin Schrock.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Plato United Methodist Church, with Rev. Russell Hepler officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville. Military graveside services will be presented by American Legion Post 381, Rome City.

Calling will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
