Edward A. Erwin, 67, of Angola died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 5:50 p.m. in Lakeland Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Angola after a two year battle with cancer.
He was born October 14, 1949, in Angola to Wilbur A. and Norma (Brabant) Erwin.
Mr. Erwin was the Parts Manager at Angola Ford for many years before taking a position with the Steuben County Highway Department. He retired in 2015.
He was a dedicated member of the Land of Lakes Lions Club for 29 years. He has acted as their Secretary for the last 25 years receiving W.P. Woods and Melvin Jones Awards. He also enjoyed attending steam engine shows in recent years and racing in his youth.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and Clinton Knauer of Angola; two granddaughters, Eleanore Knauer and Rosalyn Knauer; three brothers, Robert Erwin at Glen Burnie, Maryland, Jeffrey (Sharon) Erwin of Pleasant Lake, and Henry Erwin of Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Yeskis; and a sister-in-law, Rebecca Erwin.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at 6:15 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel (formerly Johnson Funeral Home), 612 North Main Street, Hudson with Pastor John Boyanowski of the Pleasant Lake United Methodist Church officiating.
A gathering of friends will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, where the Land of Lakes Lions Club will conduct a service at 6 p.m.
Preferred memorials are to the Land of Lakes Lions Club.
