Edna Isbell Ritchie, 83, of Kendallville died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at 5:15 a.m. in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

Mrs. Ritchie moved to this area from Kentucky as a teenager.

She was the owner of Edna's Restaurant in Rome City for many years where she was known for her homemade chicken gravy and biscuits.

Edna attended the Full Gospel Revival Center in Rome City. She was a member of the American Legion Post 381 Auxiliary in Rome City.

She was born October 5, 1928, in Garrett, Kentucky, to Denver and Gracie (Perkins) Skaggs. She was married to Merle "Steve" Isbell, Fred Stolte, and Armond Ritchie. They all preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Jimmy Isbell of Walkerton; two grandchildren, Stevie Isbell of Colleyville, Texas, and Tyler Isbell of North Liberty; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillis Ritchie of Rome City and Barb Carson of Kendallville; a brother, Eugene Skaggs of Kendallville; and several nieces and nephews, including Patricia Ann Randall of Kendallville.

She was also preceded in death by four sons, Jerome Isbell, David Isbell, Rocky Isbell, and Eddie Isbell; a sister, Alma Randol; and four brothers, Willie Skaggs, Ray "Jr." Skaggs, Marvin Skaggs, and Minnfee Skaggs.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Wade Sturdivant officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is Friday, November 25, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association.
