"Bert" Rimmell, 101, of Rome City died Friday, February 14, 2014, at 6:56 a.m. in North Ridge Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Albion.

She retired after 30 years as a fourth grade teacher at Green Township, Kendallville, Stroh, Pretty Lake, and Albion.

She was born December 16, 1912, in Terry, Mississippi, to Ramsey Theodore and Jessica Margaret (Clower) Chapman.

On August 9, 1942, in Lambert, Mississippi, she married Robert Roy Rimmell. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1999.

Surviving are two daughters, Elline Rimmell of Rome City and Martha Ann Rimmell of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Mike Antal officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
