Edith Marie Craft, 79, of Kendallville Indiana died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, surrounded by her family.

She was born February 29, 1944, to Walter H. and Elsie (Sigler) Gaston.

On September 15, 1985, in Wolcottville she married Chester D. Craft. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2015.

Edith was a beautician, owning and operating Edie's Beauty Salon out of her home in Kendallville.

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, chatting on her swing and game nights. She loved her kids and grandkids and greatly enjoyed spending time with them.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammee (Jarrod Barnes) Napier of Albion and Rhonda (Ron) Fox of Auburn; a son, Fred (Paula Whitt) Stenner of South Dakota; twelve grandchildren, Renee Gressett, Jessica Hathaway, Crystal Rose, Fred Stenner, Elon Rowe, Brandon Napier, Samantha Fox, Robert Conroy, Zachary Conroy, Ryan Fox, Natasha Fox, and Caleb Fox; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Everage of Auburn.

She was also preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Gaston; her father, Walter H Gaston; her stepmother, Wandis Gaston; and three brothers, David Gaston, Don Whitford, and Virgil Whitford.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Percy Young of Cornerstone Fellowship in Kendallville officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Casketbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
