Ebbie Lucas, 69, of Topeka went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born October 21, 1951, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Luther and Cynthia (Gibson) Holiday.
On April 13, 1967, in Hazard, Kentucky, she married Jay Lucas. He preceded her in death on
Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker.
She was a member of Ashley Love-Divine Church. Ebbie loved the Lord, and her children and grandchildren were her joy. She loved shopping for and giving Christmas presents. She enjoyed wearing hair bows and the color pink. KFC, Dr. Pepper and gum were a few of her favorite treats. Ebbie loved her life here on earth and was well known for her laugh and making people laugh.
Surviving are a daughter, Delora (Charles) Reed of Topeka; two sons, Phillip (Robin) Lucas of Kendallville and James (Michele) Lucas of Hazard, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Zephanie Reed, Christopher Reed, Angie Becker, Mike Slone, Kimberly Lucas, and Matthew Lucas: three great-grandchildren, Allison Becker, Maddix Little, and Maverick Little; a brother, Carl (Rosalie) Holiday; and a sister, Tressie Mullins.
She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Essie, Bessie, Roy, Jim, Andrew, and Rachel.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 28, 2020, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Phil Lucas and Pastor James Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Per the Governor, face masks are required.
Ebbie's funeral service on Saturday will also live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
