Obituary

Earl D. Getts, 75, of Kendallville died Monday, November 14, 2011, at 10:05 a.m. in Kendallville Manor HealthCare Center.

Mr. Getts was a lifetime area resident. He was a 1954 graduate of Kendallville High School.

He retired from King Seeley in Kendallville where he had worked as a shipping and receiving clerk for many years.

Earl was a member of the Kendallville Moose Lodge 1301 and the Kendallville Eagles Lodge 985. He attended Fellowship Bible Church in Kendallville.

He was born September 27, 1936, in DeKalb County to Clinton and Mabel (Perkins) Getts. On September 2, 1966, in Kendallville he married Kay Musser.

Surviving are his wife, Kay Getts of Kendallville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Norman and Kim Getts of Kendallville and James Getts of Kendallville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Carolyn Getts of Kendallville and Lloyd and Mary Getts of Kendallville; a grand-dog, Sheila; three grand-cats, Sebastian, Buzz, and Freya; and three great grand-cats, Bruno and Danica.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Sue Metzger; and two brothers, Harold Getts and Orville Getts.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Fellowship Bible Church, 306 North Allen Chapel Road, Kendallville, with Pastor Tom Dyson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.

Pallbearers will be Tom Getts, Matt Getts, Diana Boehme, Brenda Fike, Jim Brady, and Richard Kneubuhler.

Calling is Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. in the church.

Preferred memorials are to the family.
