Doyne Charles Perkins, 82, of Kendallville died Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11:05 a.m. at his residence.
He was born May 18, 1936, in Kendallville to Russell and Alice (Eddy) Perkins.
On March 16, 1958, in Ligonier he married Judith A. Stechcon.
Mr. Perkins was a farmer and drove bus for East Noble School Corporation for over 25 years.
He was a member of the Wayne Center United Methodist Church, Kendallville.
Doyne enjoyed antique tractors and overhauling John Deere tractors. He enjoyed making people laugh, loved his school bus kids, and dearly loved his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Judy Perkins of Kendallville; two daughters, Victoria (Kim Splawn) Perkins of Cassopolis, Michigan, and Linda (Rick) Anderson of LaOtto; two sons, Steven (Kathy) Perkins of Ashley and Patrick (Venessa) Perkins of Kendallville; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Short; a sister, Faith Marti; and a brother, Robert Perkins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Rev. Ken Walker of the Wayne Center United Methodist Church in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna.
Pallbearers will be Pat Perkins, Steve Perkins, Zackery Perkins, David Spence, Josh Perkins, Bryce Perkins, Rick Anderson, and Gayle Miller.
Calling is Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the Wayne Center United Methodist Church.
