Doug Blankenship, 61, of Hudson, Indiana died unexpectedly Friday, June 28, 2024, at his residence.

He was born February 23, 1963, in LaGrange to Mitch and Alphia (Kiser) Blankenship.

On July 13, 2023, at their home in Hudson, he married Jennifer Collins.

Doug was an independent flooring contractor and prior to that had worked at Morgan Olson in Sturgis, Michigan.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Ohio State Fan. He was an honest and straight forward man who knew no stranger. He could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand to Jennifer with her next crafting project.

Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Blankenship of Hudson; two sons, Chad Blankenship of Ashley and Austin (Christina) Keck of Mongo; two stepsons, Cody Good of Angola and Devan Good of LaGrange; a granddaughter, Ella Keck; four step grandchildren, Trynytee, Vincent, Kaydian, and Devin; a brother, Mike (Margaret) Blankenship of Stroh; and his beloved dogs, Rocky and Ryder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jill R. Blankenship; his twin brother, Donnie Blankenship; a brother, Rick Blankenship; and a sister, Janetta Slone.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson/Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson with Pastor Mike Hamm of the Stroh Church of Christ officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 3, 2024, one hour prior to the funeral service all at the funeral home.
