Dorothy L. McHenney, 100, of Rome City, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home in Rome City on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

She was born October 5, 1924, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Clarence and Nora Miller.

On December 15, 1972, she married Gerald B. McHenney in Howe.

Dorothy was an honorary life member of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post 381 in Rome City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, of 45 years in 2017; and a granddaughter, Sheree Miller in 2018.

Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Hart of Rome City; a son, Orlo B. (Kathy) Hart of Angola; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 21 great great-grandchildren; and one step great great-grandchild.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

There will be no visitation or services.

Burial will be at Orange Cemetery in Rome City at a later date.
