Doris E. Smith, 80, of Kendallville died Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 2:11 p.m. in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne following a brief illness.

She lived in this area 41 years, coming from Fort Wayne. She was a homemaker.

She was born October 13, 1932, in Fort Wayne to Frederick and Mary Catherine (Travis) Strasburg. On August 12, 1962, in Fort Wayne, she married Max A. Smith, Sr. He survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are two sons, Max A. Smith, Jr. of Kendallville and Curtis E. Smith of Kendallville; two grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon and Toby Rose of Uniondale and Janet Mathaney of Alabama; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roger and June Strasburg of Kansas and Don Strasburg of Kansas.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street Kendallville with Pastor Regan Ford officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Friday, October 26, 2012, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
