Obituary

God called home his angel, Doris L. Ehmke, 92, of Adams Lake on Friday, February 16, 2018.

She was born July 23, 1925, in New Haven to Leonard and Erma (Caine) Richhart.

She married Elmer Ehmke, raised their family in Fort Wayne, and retired from Fort Wayne Newspapers.

Spending summers since 1965 at her Adams Lake home and after retirement living part-time here and in Florida, she moved to Adams Lake permanently after the death of her husband in 1992.

Mrs. Ehmke was a member of the Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed playing Bridge, loved gatherings at her lake home, and being with her family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Ranae Ehmke Taylor of Adams Lake; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Syd Ehmke of Fishers; and three grandchildren, Kyle Ehmke, Ross Ehmke, and Lierin Ehmke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Don Richhart, Paul Richhart, and Bill Richhart.

A memorial service will be Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor David Mathews of the Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in New Haven.

Calling is Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
