Obituary

Donna Carol Owens, 54, of Stroh died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. She had been battling cancer for the last year.

She was born September 4, 1963, in LaGrange to Jackie and Carolyn (Ritchie) Owens.

Donna was employed as a mail carrier for the Kendallville Post Office where she had served for several years.

She was a member of the Kendallville VFW Post 2749 Auxiliary.

Donna enjoyed flowers, gardening, and canning, which she loved sharing with others. She loved reading and being with family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed the people on her mail route.

Surviving are two daughters, Samantha Schnurr of Fort Wayne and Jessica Schnurr of Kendallville; a granddaughter, Aryana Owens; her mother, Carolyn Owens of Stroh; a brother, Tim (Lisa) Owens of Stroh; a niece, Chelsea Owens of Denver, Colorado; and a nephew, Jackie Owens of Stroh.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jackie Owens on November 17, 1993.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Billy Fields of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Wolcottville officiating. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bremer, Kirk Noll, Jackie Owens, Gary Everage, Jerry Smith, and Jim Luke.

Calling is Friday, December 29, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
