Donald A. Wilsey, 77, of Westler Lake, Wolcottville died Friday, November 30, 2012, in Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange.

He moved to Fort Wayne in 1969, coming from Minnesota. He has lived at Westler Lake since 1975.

Mr. Wilsey retired after 36 years as regional sales manager for Indianhead Truck Line.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was a life-member of the Rome City American Legion Post 381, where he was the coordinator for the honor guard and served as an officer for many years. He was also a life-member of the Kendallville VFW Post 2749.

He was born July 14, 1935, in Strickland, Wisconson, to Lester A. and Caroline M. (Sawatzky) Wilsey. On October 18, 1969, in Fort Wayne he married Sharon J. Funk. She survives at Westler Lake.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Wilsey of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Bobette Wilsey of Litchfield, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Kathy Boggs and Erin Boggs both of St. Paul, Minnesota; a brother, Roland D. Wilsey of Roseville, Minnesota; a sister, Lois Murch of Little Canada, Minnesota; and a nephew, Lester A. Wilsey, III of Fridley, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dawn Boggs; and a brother, Lester A. Wilsey, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 8, 2012, at 10 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery. Honor guard services will be provided by Rome City American Legion Post 381 and Kendallville VFW Post 2749.

Calling is Friday, December 7, 2012, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Preferred memorials are to Parkview Noble Home Health & Hospice or masses to the church.
