Donald Charles Sabelhaus, 65, of LaGrange died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He had lived in this area most of his life, coming from Tell City.
Mr. Sabelhaus served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.
He retired as a fiberglass tool maker, having worked at K V Molded Products in Kendallville and Airway Caps in Albion.
Don enjoyed golfing and gardening. He also enjoyed his computer on which he had written several books.
He was born February 5, 1951, in Tell City to Paul K. Sabelhaus, Sr. and Laverne (Pauline) Kolin. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Ike Andrew "Andy" (Nancy) Sabelhaus of LaGrange; two grandsons, Evan Sabelhaus and Owen Sabelhaus; three step-grandchildren, Ta'Niesha Washington, Beverly Washington, and Kaisha Washington; two step great-grandchildren, Azi'lah Foster and Apollo Swartz; a sister, Mary Christine (Dick) Button of Sturgis, Michigan; a brother, Paul K. Sabelhaus, Jr. of Adams Lake; and the mother of his children, Deb Williams of LaGrange.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Sabelhaus; and a sister, Shannon Sabelhaus Coolie.
There will be no services or calling.
Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in LaGrange County.
Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association or Elkhart Hospice.
Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
