Donald E. Collins, 91, of Big Turkey Lake, Hudson, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at his residence.

He was born November 8, 1932, in Wolcottville, Indiana, to Allen and Nelia (Lawson) Collins.

On July 23, 1955, in Stroh he married Phylis J. Bickel.

He honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955.

Mr. Collins retired from Weatherhead in Angola where he was head of the brass mill.

Don enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife of 68 ½ years, Phylis Collins of Big Turkey Lake; a daughter, Carol Collins of Hudson; two sons, Rick (Terri) Collins of Monticello, Georgia, and Andy (Susan) Collins of Kenosha, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) Collins, Melissa (Jordan) Crosby, Sara Collins, and Magen Collins; seven great-grandchildren, Trinity, Colin, Conor, Caleb, Caroline, Ben, and Eleanor; and two sisters, Judy Childs and Jackie Collins both of Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Ruby Holcomb, Mary McCann, and Shirley Duckworth; and three brothers, Raymond Collins, Bob Collins, and Lennie Collins.

There will be no visitation or services.

Private burial will be at Lake Bethel Cemetery in LaGrange County.
