Obituary

DeWayne Halsey, 69, of Hudson died Friday, December 7, 2007, at 2:05 pm in Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla where he had resided for one day. He had been ill for three weeks.

Mr. Halsey had been a resident of the Stroh, Indiana, area most of his life. He was a truck driver for Star Fleet in Middlebury, and enjoyed fishing.

He was born March 25, 1938, in Wolcottville to Ted & Reva (Forker) Halsey.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis Halsey and Gary Halsey both of Hudson; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one brother, LeRoy Halsey of Eustis, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Willie DeWayne Halsey.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at 11 am at Mt. Calvary United Baptist Church in Stroh with Pastor Willie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Brushy Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, December 10, 2007, from 3 to 8 pm at the church with an evening service being held at 6 pm. Preferred memorials are to the family.
