Deborah Ann (Mertz) Beaty, 72, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the Emergency Room at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.
She was born November 25, 1952, in Kendallville, to Herbert and Doris (Emmons) Mertz.
She had attended St. John Lutheran School in Kendallville was a 1971 graduate of East Noble High School and a lifetime area resident.
Deb had worked in the cafeteria at East Noble High School and also as an Advanced EMT for Noble County EMS.
She had attended St. John Lutheran Church.
Deb enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching the birds from her window. She loved socializing with her friends and neighbors.
Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca A. (Diego) Beaty of Interlachen, Florida, and Emily E. (Quentin) Sprengelmeyer of Galena, Illinois; two grandchildren, Elliott Sprengelmeyer and Isla Sprengelmeyer; two sisters, Cathie Swartz of Kendallville and Susan (Michael) Hively of Battle Creek, Michigan; a brother, Ron Mertz of Angola; her mother, Doris Mertz of Angola; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Mertz in 1998; and her friend, Demaris L. "Dee" Powers in 2016.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 25, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Rev. Philip Rigdon of St. John Lutheran Church officiating.
Visitation will also be on Friday, beginning at 12 Noon until the time of the funeral services at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Fairfield Cemetery near Corunna.
