Weaver
August 21, 1939 – March 6, 2024
David A. Weaver, 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and formerly of Royer Lake in LaGrange County peacefully passed this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
David was born August 21, 1939, in Elkhart County, Indiana, and grew up in Wawaka. He was the son of the late Frank and Elberta Weaver.
David met and married the love of his life, Sarah Keller, and they were blessed with 49 years of marriage before Sarah was called home in 2016. They lived in and loved their little house on Royer Lake where he and Sarah raised their three children, David Jeffrey Weaver, Huntington, Trisha (Mark) Worrell, Fort Wayne, and Joseph (Valerie) Weaver, Wolcottville.
Prior to marrying Sarah, David served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Germany where he travelled extensively in Europe including Germany, Italy, and Spain. After returning home, David worked in road construction for many years and retired from Sealed Power. He was a lifetime member of the Rome City American Legion Post 341.
David was most passionate about his family, fishing, the Cubs, Hoosier Men's Basketball, and the Bears...in that order. David loved to golf and mushroom hunt, putter in his man cave, and garden.
David treasured his grandchildren and they were always a big part of his life Davy, Ashleigh, Keller, Kolby, Shelby, Hailey, Gabrielle, and Jeffy. David was also blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, scores of nieces and nephews, and good friends. David greatly appreciated his life-long friendship with fellow Wawakian, Richard Glant.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, beautiful granddaughter, Dottie, and siblings, Richard and Grover Weaver and Karen Sue (Weaver) Growcock.
