David Brice Schwartz, 73, of Ashley, Indiana, died Saturday, December 28, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born October 5, 1951, in Garrett, Indiana, to Martin L. and Betty E. (Ober) Schwartz.

He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

On September 27, 1975, in Kendallville he married Susan Elaine Borger.

Mr. Schwartz retired as a pipe fitter for Fort Wayne Local 166.

Dave enjoyed playing pool on Wednesday evenings with his friends and playing volleyball on Sunday at his home.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Schwartz of Ashley; three sons, Chad (Rachel) Schwartz of Auburn, Timothy (Nora) Schwartz of Auburn, and Ben (Rachel) Schwartz of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Anthony Adame, Alexa (Connor Meehan) Tripp, Tyler (Jake Racz) Schwartz, Avery Schwartz, Elliot Schwartz, Savannah Schwartz, Bishop Schwartz, and Hudson Schwartz; two great-grandchildren, Jude Meehan and Lennon Meehan; his father, Martin "Mike" Schwartz of Hudson; two sisters, Dawn Fry of Georgia and Bonnie (Jim) Deetz of Wolcottville; and two brothers, Robert Schwartz of Angola and Marty Schwartz of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Schwartz; a sister, Patricia Sabrosky; and a brother, Brian Schwartz.

A celebration of life service will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2 p.m. at his home at 0756 CR 15, Ashley, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be directed to Wolf Creek Habitat & Rescue, 14099 Wolf Creek Road, Brookville, Indiana, 47012.
