Obituary

David Wayne Handshoe, 72, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Majestic Care of West Allen in Fort Wayne.

He was born February 10, 1952, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Arnold and Flora (Harmon) Handshoe.

Mr. Handshoe was a mechanic and a self-employed truck driver.

David loved racing in his younger years and, as he grew older, he enjoyed racing go-carts with his grandchildren. He dearly loved his grandchildren.

Surviving are four daughters, LaShonda, Wilcox-Lovely (William Lovely) of Kendallville, Carrie Rowe, of Garrett, Kathy Handshoe of Fort Wayne, and Yvonne (Anthony Maenle) Handshoe of New Haven; six grandchildren, Brittney Stahl, Skyler (Audry Ramer) Wilcox, Michael Slone, Kaleb Slone, Kylie (Damen) Ritchie, and Emily Slone; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; and four sisters, Hazel (Carroll) Ensley of North Carolina, Jeanette Mansfield of Fort Wayne, Judy Boyd of Kendallville, and Ellen Hicks of Garrett.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Handshoe; his parents; two grandchildren, Christina Wilcox and Allen Wilcox; a great-grandchild; a sister, Betty Handshoe; and a brother, Leslie Handshoe.

Visitation is Friday, February 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harbor of Love Baptist Church, 2353 South Lima Road, Kendallville.

The funeral service will be Friday, February 14, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the church with Pastor Charlie Mosley officiating.

Burial will follow at Christian Union Cemetery near Garrett.

Pallbearers are William Lovely, Anthony Maenle, Skyler Wilcox, Damen Ritchie, Curtis Pruitt, and Corey Sells.
