Obituary

David Lee Gaston, 72, of Auburn died Sunday, December 26, 2010, at 7:50 a.m. in Wesley Health Care Center, Auburn.

Mr. Gaston, a lifetime area resident, retired from Warner Gear in Auburn. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the VFW in Garrett and Auburn. The Muzzle Loader Club in St. Joe was started by David and his friend, Walter Perry.

He was born February 5, 1938, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Walter Harold and Elsie Fern (Sigler) Gaston.

Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Chester Craft of Kendallville; and a special friend, Bonnie Everage of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Wandis Joy Gaston, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the Salem United Baptist Church, 8227 SR 9 N, Kendallville with Pastor Billy Tuttle officating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery. Honor guard services will be provided by the Garrett VFW Post and active duty members of the U.S. Army.

Calling is Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Preferred memorials are to the Salem United Baptist Church.
