David Boyd, 80, of Ashley, Indiana, died Thursday, October 26, 2023, at his residence.

He was born September 10, 1943, in Angola to Othal W. and Laura May (Stitsworth) Boyd.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Boyd worked in maintenance at Auburn Gear in Auburn and retired from Dana in Fort Wayne.

He was a member of Independent Full Gospel in Ashley.

David enjoyed modified car racing and NASCAR racing. He loved working outside and doing lawncare with his business Get'er Done Lawncare.

Surviving are two sons, Brett (Tina) Boyd of Angola and Dave (Sarah) Boyd of Kendallville; a daughter, Rhonda (Delbert) Bowman of Wolcottville; a stepson, Jake Dove of Ashley; a stepdaughter, Jessica Miller of Ashley; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Julia Boyd; and a brother, Steve Boyd.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Stambaugh of Waterloo Freewill Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery near Salem Center.
