David E. Amburgey, 42, of Kendallville, Indiana died Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne following an ongoing illness.
He was born January 4, 1981, in Kendallville to Earl and Teresa (Smith) Amburgey.
In 2010, he married his longtime companion, Tabetha Pfleidner.
He had been a third shift press operator at the Kendallville News Sun.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ice fishing. He was a wonderful husband, brother, son, and friend.
Surviving are his wife, Tabetha Amburgey of Kendallville; a sister, Brenda (Tommy) Murphy of Butler; a half-brother, Tyler J. Amburgey of New Castle; his mother-in-law, Janet Sue Pfleidner of Kendallville; three brothers-in-law, Steven (Tara Russell) Pfleidner of Avilla, Jason Pfleidner of Kendallville, and Nathan Pfleidner of Kendallville; two aunts, Brenda (Gary) Madden of Amburgey, Kentucky, and Betty Amburgey of Littcarr, Kentucky; a great-aunt, Rena Amburgey of Avilla,; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Amanda Jo Meyer; a nephew, Michael A. Murphy; his father-in-law, Billy A. Pfleidner; an aunt, Athaga Johnson; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Amburgey; and maternal grandparents, Hugh and Thelma Hickman.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Preferred memorials are to the family.
