David A. Miller, 77, of Avilla died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in his residence.
He returned to this area 1 ½ years, coming from Greenville, South Carolina.
Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from International Harvester and was a farmer.
He was born December 20, 1934, in DeKalb County to Cecil and Bessie (Perkins) Miller.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn (Brad) Shambarger of Kendallville, Debby (Monty) McCoy of Climbing Hill Iowa, and Vicki Harmon of Kendallville; four sons, Mike (Carolyn) Miller of Rome City, Clay Miller of Rome City, Andrew Miller of South Carolina, and Joel Miller of South Carolina; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Judy (Larry) Harder of Gas City and Jane (Harold) Shivler of Angola; and three brothers, Tommy Miller of Fort Wayne, Gene (Barbara Jean) Miller of Kendallville, and Paul (Peggy) Miller of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Miller and Ann Miller; and three brothers, Wayne Miller, Joe Miller, and Russell Miller.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Monty McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Calling is one hour prior to services on Saturday. Preferred memorials are to the family.
