Darrell Shepherd, 66, of Wolcottville died Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 1:31 a.m. in his residence.
He was born May 29, 1951, in Garrett to Buford and Marie (Smith) Shepherd. They preceded him in death.
On July 2, 1976, in Wolcottville he married Elmira Combs.
Mr. Shepherd served in the U.S. Army from October 30, 1970 to August 25, 1972. He retired from Pro Design in Elkhart.
He was a member of Harbor of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville.
Darrell enjoyed fishing, walking, and gardening. He was an avid Notre Dame and I.U. fan.
Surviving are his wife, Elmira Shepherd of Wolcottville; a daughter, Tina (Roger) Kauffman of Colon, Michigan; a son, Darrell (Alicia) Shepherd of Wolcottville; six grandchildren, Chantal Withrow, Shai-Linn Grieter, Brittany Shepherd, Madison Shepherd, Bracey Shepherd, and Loik Shepherd; five great-grandchildren, Finleigh Withrow, Addie Withrow, Hunter Grieter, Alayiah Shepherd, and Paisley Sloss; two sisters, Evelyn (Terry) Long of Albion and Linda (Chuck) Kline of Albion; and two brothers, Marvin Shepherd of Goshen and Larry (Gretta) Shepherd of Albion.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Harbor of Love Baptist Church in Kendallville with Pastor Charles Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Calling is Monday, July 31, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church where an evening service will be held at 7 p.m. Calling will also be one hour prior to the services on Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the Indiana Donor Network.
