Darrel Eugene DeLong, 75, of Kendallville, Indiana, died  Monday, December 2, 2024, at Lutheran Life Village in Kendallville.

He was born January 16, 1949, in Garrett, Indiana to Claude Eugene and Mary May (Bird) DeLong.

On May 7, 1983 in Albion, Indiana he married Nancy L. Kurrle. She preceded him in death on October 15, 2014.

Darrel retired in 2004 from Quick Tanks in Kendallville.

Surviving are a daughter, Jo Ellen DeLong of Kendallville; a son, Chad DeLong of Kendallville; three grandchildren, Lillie DeLong of Kimmel, Kaleb Ritchie of Kendallville, and Evan DeLong of Kendallville; a great-granddaughter, Claira May DeLong; a brother, Jerry (Jan) DeLong of Kendallville.

He was preceded in death by five siblings, Imogene Wilson, Betty Dubois, Charlie DeLong, Shirley Cramer and Linda DeLong.

Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery in Corunna.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
