Obituary

Danny Michael Fugate, 41, of Wolcottville died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 2:55 a.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He had been in failing health for several years, and had been in the hospital since December.

Mr. Fugate was a lifetime area resident. He had last worked at A-1 Production in Kendallville, and previously worked at Starcraft in Goshen.

He was a NASCAR racing fan and claimed to be the number one fan of Jeff Gordan, and enjoyed playing Bingo. He loved his grandchildren, children, and especially his wife. He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family.

He was born July 1, 1967, in LaGrange to Danny and Toni (Jordan) Fugate. They preceded him in death on November 5, 1979. He was raised in Rome City by his aunt and uncle, Shirley Jordan, Rome City, and Larry Criswell, Wolcottville.

He was married May 11, 1990, in Wolcottville to Lisa K. Holliday. She survives in Wolcottville.

Also surviving are two daughters, Angel Fugate and her companion, Josh Williams, of Wolcottville and Danielle Fugate, at home; a son, Cody Fugate, at home; two grandchildren, Tyson Williams and Trenton Williams; three brothers, Jerry Fugate, Curtis Fugate, and Mark Fugate all of Rome City; and his grandmother, Betty Barr of Wolcottville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl Jordan and Leonard and Vernie Fugate.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Grace Christian Church, Kendallville, with Pastor Chris Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Casketbearers will be Cody Fugate, Travis Holliday, Eric Keck, Larry Criswell, Josh Williams, Terry Wertz, Mark Fugate, and Burt Watson.

Calling is Friday, May 22, 2009, after 2 p.m. at the church where there will be an evening service at 6 p.m.

A benefit had been planned for Danny on June 6th at Taylor Park in Wolcottville, and it will still be held to help the family with their expenses. Therefore, preferred memorials are to the Danny Fugate Benefit Fund, in care of Farmers State Bank, 107 North Main Street, Wolcottville, Indiana, 46795.
