Daniel Walter Ameda Tackels, 68, of Kendallville, Indiana and formerly Garrett died unexpectedly, Friday, September 27, 2024, at his residence.

He was born September 13, 1956, in Fort Wayne to Charles L. and Wanda A. (Dove) Tackels.

Daniel was a mechanic and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are three daughters, Bonnie Quinn of Kendallville, Jessica Foulk of Missouri, and Melissa Hinkle of Garrett; ten grandchildren, Kara Quinn, Tabitha Muniz-Quinn, Karisa Foulk, Alexis Foulk, Destiny Tackels-Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Nevaeh Tackels, Madison McClure, Landon Hinkle, and Payton Hinkle; five great-grandchildren, JJ Quinn, Olivia Anderson, Kyler Hess, Luca Gillespie, and Kallum Hess; two sisters, Sandy (Jack Pfierman) Brown of Auburn and Marie Scelso of Fort Wayne; three nieces, Amanda Brown, Kaysia (David) Daniels, and Emily Elizabeth Griggs; two nephew, Jeremy Gochcoff and Robert Steven Lewis Tackels; and a great-nephew, David Daniels, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Crystal Tackels; and two brothers, Steve Tackels, and an infant brother.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
